NeoSD Pro - Bad Apple demo / home brew

01 Mar 2020, 02:49

I'm trying to load the home brew/demo of "Bad Apple" to my NeoSD Pro. However Neobuilder always fails saying it is an unknown and then skips it.

I'm using the hi-res version of bad apple directly from Bey, the creator of the NEO-GEO version, which can be found in the link below. It also doesn’t recognise the low-res version.

Does anyone know how to properly load home brew? The NEOSD Pro claims to support home brew... So what am I missing?

Thanks.

The problem is if neobulider doesn't recognize the game it can't be converted to the necessary .neo format.

There is this tool floating around:

https://github.com/city41/neosdconv

It has converted My tiny little demo ROM and a few games to .neo format successfully so it might be worth a shot.

Thanks for the reply, unfortunately it doesn't seem to be working with bad apple. It just produces this

C data length 0
P data length 0
S data length 0
M data length 0
V data length 0
neoFile.length 4096

Which obviously is not correct.

I am the creator of neosdconv.

I took a stab at getting Bad Apple to convert with it, but no luck so far. It always fails to write.

What I don't understand is Alex says it requires two rom slots?

That probably means there is something about Bad Apple that I don't understand. Can anyone help?

So i have gotten the bad apple demo to run on Neo SD Pro, unfortunately about two thirds of the way into the demo the graphics corrupt.

Maybe someone knows a correct way to get it to run without issues?
