It sounds like you never registered an account. Try to register one.

I've been having the same issue and I did register when I purchased my copy of the Mega SD. I can login to the site without issue but when I try to login to the download page I'm denied and get the same 'invalid credentials' error message for some reason. I hope someone can help as I would really like to be able to update the firmware especially after having spent a considerable amount of money in order to obtain the Mega SD.

The downloads section credentials are separate from the order credentials. No data is shared between them. You need to make a downloads account.

I didn't know there was another separate login for the download page as well. Having to create all of these registrations in order to access each individual section on one site is something I've never personally encountered before and find to be a little convoluted to be perfectly honest. But anyways I appreciate the help and look forward to enjoying the product. Thanks.

It threw me off at first as well. There are advantages and disadvantages obviously. One big one would be security of your financial data. But I totally agree it's not intuitive of what you would expect. Maybe somewhere down the road this will change.
