Re: Excessive visual noise using RGB and Framemeister

I took a look at the videos from the goole drives link. I remember those diagonal lines of noise when I was using my Framemeister's RGB input. There were also other noise problems with earlier revisions of the SSDS3. The fixes implemented in revision B helped with that, but those diagonal lines nois...

Re: Excessive visual noise using RGB and Framemeister

In my setup, I have diagonal noise problem with even revision B when using the RGB connection on a Framemeister with a SCART cable from Retro Access. I don't see this noise if I used the D-term connection and an HD retrovision Genesis 2 cable. The drawback there is that the component input for the F...

Re: Turbografx compatibility

To add once you get one, make sure to align the pins with the connector Super SD system 3 carefully and do not force it on. Otherwise, you risk bending a pin. This is true for the Japanese systems too, but more so for the Turbografx with that snug fit.

Re: Component or S-Video?

If one has an OSSC, an HD retrovision genesis component cable might do the trick. I've been meaning to get one of those cables, but holding off on spending for the time being.

Re: World Heroes 2 graphical glitches

I don't know if this will help at all, but I had problems with Sapphire crashing, especially with the revision 3 unit. It had fewer problem with revision B, but I tried a different bios file, and now it has not crashed for awhile.

Re: New SSD 3 video issues

Some of these problems seem very frustrating to trouble shoot as someone has an issue while another may not. I sometimes wonder if this product is sensitive to whatever setup you have.

Re: New SSD 3 video issues

Out of curiosity, what firmware revision do you have on your framemeister (I assume XRGB mini)? I have a vague memories of reading somewhere that older firmware revisions might require some sync adjustments. Despite it being "discontinued", there was a new firmware update released back in January, I...

Re: New Board Revision with FBX & FU-RGB Fixes?

Thanks for the two posts.

If I were to get the fix installed, don't worry, I'll ask nicely. :)

Re: New Board Revision with FBX & FU-RGB Fixes?

I didn't want to call a vendor out, especially one that I have had a good experience with, but I got mine from Stone Age Gamer (back last Oct 2018). I live close enough that I sometimes drive there. When the new boards are in their hands, it will be interesting to see if the fixes make a difference....

Re: New Board Revision with FBX & FU-RGB Fixes?

I left out something from my last post regarding whether or not upscalers such as the framemeister or OSSC contribute to the issues. If play a hucard game or a game from a TurboEverdrive, the RGB signal from the revision 3 Super SD System 3 is definitely better. Said game will have the noise issue w...
