I prefer a CRT, so a Mega SG is out

The Analogue DAC allows the Mega Sg to work on a CRT and even allows the 32X and light guns to work with the Mega Sg.

Re: Freeze report on Japanese Mega CD "Shin Megami Tensei"

According to kevtris, the Mega Sg's YM2612 implementation is cycle accurate, so that part shouldn't be an issue. There are a couple issues though; for one the volume levels for the PSG and whatnot are not correct by default (and need tweaked to simulate the model Genesis you're intending to simulate...

Re: MSDEXP adapter release date

Last they said, it was in the prototype stage but they don't know what's going to happen with it. They may outsource it for others to build and sell the hardware.

Re: Choppy sound with Vay

I personally use a SanDisk Ultra card (400 GB) so any of those should work fine.

Re: Choppy sound with Vay

Actually, Terraonion has noticed issues with Samsung EVO SD cards, including stutter every 10 or so minutes (likely due to some sort of TRIM feature on the SD card). SanDisk cards work fine though without any issues.

Re: SD card recommendations

I'm using a 400GB SanDisk Ultra and it works fine too.

The MegaSD supports FAT32 (might need an app to format the card if above 32GB) but it also supports exFAT too.

Re: Freeze report on Japanese Mega CD "Shin Megami Tensei"

Yeah, Willy Beamish, Chuck Rock and NHL '94 are broken in 4.6, but the fix for them in 4.7 broke other games unfortunately.

Re: Would really like to play Shining Force CD, but...

If I had to guess, it's something to do with timing (RAS2?) on the expansion port, which may not be an issue through the cartridge port. That said, when I say may not above, it's worth pointing out there are Sega CD issues through the cartridge port (via the MegaSD) too in the latest Mega Sg firmwar...

Re: Would really like to play Shining Force CD, but...

That's true, there's been multiple issues (especially Sega CD issues) in the last couple Mega Sg firmware updates.
