Re: Excessive visual noise using RGB and Framemeister

The long read time is directly related to the number of files in the directory (and secondarily to SDCard read performance); literally, it has to make a lot of read commands due to the nature of the filesystem. I would not recommend sticking all ROM files in the same folder for this reason. You shou...

Re: Video issue with SSDS3

What I'm writing was already voiced by mobiusstriptech, but I'll write in simpler terms... The raw RGB video signals generated internally by the system are attached directly to the bus so that they can drive a video output (i.e. the AV Booster in the case of the original PC Engine). These signals ar...

Re: Crashes with Streat Figther 2, Gradius etc.

Power quality problems don't have to come from outside of the console (although they can). Among others, common ones which can happen "at" the console include: - DC output from the AC adapter having poor conditioning, voltage, or current - degradation of the power-conditioning capacitors immediately...

I believe the question was whether the power supply was original.

Re: How to rip CD Graphics correctly? Help needed

You can try CD Manipulator; I seem to recall that it also rips sub channel information (though I don't know if it's in the sam format that is used by MegaSD).

Re: About SD Card access noise

It could be that Sandisk is more aggressive on power savings when in standby (making the transition to "in use" so much more of a transition). It's not easy to reduce this without applying a bunch of math to it to reduce specific frequencies; you can add capacitors adjacent to the power-consuming un...

Re: PCB Beveling?

Interesting topic. So, I went to my collection and looked at various cartridges from various systems, as a comment was made about there being specifications for card edges on cartridges (which I have never seen for cartridges of that era, although PC Engine HuCards definitely would have had one - bu...

Re: Pier Solar + enhanced CD soundtrack

There might be some trick to how to extract the data. I recall when it was released, they were concerned about the (at that time) current ability of duplication, and there was some discussion about how to protect it while still being playable (but I don’t know what was done, if anything actually was...

Re: All shipping related issues READ THIS!!!

For those that had to pay additional money for customs clearance, how were you notified of this? Did you see it on DHL tracking? How did you pay ? I order a lot of stuff, and much of it is delivered by DHL. I prefer Fedex, but there often isn’t a lot of choice. DHL is still above average. If DHL is...
