Re: Crashes with Streat Figther 2, Gradius etc.

https://forums.terraonion.com/viewtopic.php?f=11&t=949 I had a VERY similar problem. I ended up replacing the Turbografx's custom microprocessor IC to fix it; this was a turbografx which I purchased brand new back in 1988ish, only one owner, and after 30 years it had acquired a heat related problem ...

Re: Turbografx compatibility

As stated above, the connector will probably not line up properly for a clean fit unless you loosen up the SSS3 screws first (a LOT). You can tighten up the screws at the front of the case once you're properly inserted, but torqueing down the rear screws will probably prevent you from inserting or r...

Re: About SD Card access noise

If I had to hazard a (absolutely blind) guess, the SD cards are putting noise on the 3.3V rail, which is then being picked up on something in the audio path. I would want to spend some time probing the audio path with a decent oscilloscope to see where the problem originates from, now that you have ...

Re: All shipping related issues READ THIS!!!

It's been my experience with DHL that you always get an email from them a day or two before delivery. That's when I redirect it to a drop-off center, since I will never be home to sign for the delivery.

Re: SSS3 causes Turbografx system to become unstable.

I went ahead and returned the SSS3 to Stoneagegamer.com, as I had no access to another Turbografx-16 to test the unit with. They were unable to find a problem with the unit and shipped me a new one. My TG16 continued to show the corruption/crashes even with the new unit. I checked ripple on several ...

Re: SSS3 causes Turbografx system to become unstable.

Recapping the TG-16 does not fix the problems, although graphical corruptions *seem* to occur less often now.

Re: SSS3 causes Turbografx system to become unstable.

I've tested the new Sandisk Ultra, as well as a generic no-name 1GB microSD card I had lying around, and have come to the conclusion that it doesn't make a difference which SD card I use. The Sandisk initially seemed to work longer before having image corruption or crashes, but as time went by, it e...

Re: SSS3 causes Turbografx system to become unstable.

Actually, what is evident is that the unit is unstable when the TG16 onboard chips access the SSS3 (through the TG16 expansion bus). You can't draw any other definitive conclusions from the information given. I am not the SSS3 hardware developer, but there is no way in hell that the SSS3 is designed...

Re: SSS3 causes Turbografx system to become unstable.

The SSS3 successfully reads the Hucard images and boots the machine, so I doubt that the SDcard is responsible for this, as I doubt that SDCard access is ongoing after the machine boots, and Keith Courage doesn't save to backup RAM. FWIW I was sent a Class 10 Kingston SDCard. More notes: Attached a ...
